Models of Teaching Science Communication

Changes in the communication ecosystem have generated profound transformations current science communication. In same way, coexistence of diverse actors with different objectives and professional standards also raises new ethical dilemmas. The main objective this research was to identify existing models teaching scientists communicators worldwide. To end, we conducted 26 semi-structured interviews teachers from 15 countries. From these interviews, identified three scientists: (A) practical model, where skills such as writing, public speaking, etc., are taught; (B) reflective model that teaches theory history enable researchers understand relationship between society; (C) disruptive traditional roles scientific knowledge production well relationships power challenged. On other hand, two for communicators: which is subdivided into approaches—theoretical (historical review, understanding science–society relationships, etc.) skill-based (writing, audiovisual, coexist programs—and tools, concepts, methodologies taught.
